Position Overview

International is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse Sr. This role involves executing project work and independent tasks that require advanced subject area knowledge and sound decision-making. Operating with limited supervision, you will apply company policies and standard procedures to resolve moderate issues while exercising independent judgment within established guidelines. Alongside building productive internal and external working relationships, you will receive general instructions for routine duties and detailed guidance when tackling new assignments.

 

Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday through Thursday: 5:30 PM - 4:00 AM

 

Training will begin on 1st Shift for the first few weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Works within a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and provide occupational health and safety services in an effort to help reduce and treat work injuries and illness as well as providing generalized health and wellness programs.  
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources in monitoring medical leave of absences, disability and workers’ compensation case management, new employee exams, lab testing, fit for duty exams, and medical placement exams.
  • Manages and protects all medical records; including individual employee health records in accordance with company policy and federal laws. 
  • Administers medication according to company standing order protocols and the in-state Nurse Practice Act rules.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and at least 1 year of nursing experience Must have an active Registered Nurse license Must have a current American Heart Association Health Professional CPR card

OR

  • Master's degree in nursing and no experience Must have an active Registered Nurse license Must have a current American Heart Association Health Professional CPR card

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical-thinking skills
  • Knowledge of occupational health nursing principles and workplace injury management
  • Ability to provide first aid, emergency response, and treatment under established standing orders
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation cases and coordinating employee follow-up care
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, recordkeeping requirements, and workplace safety standards
  • Ability to evaluate work-related and non-work-related medical restrictions and return-to-work documentation
  • Experience with post-offer, periodic, and fitness-for-duty health screenings
  • Knowledge of hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and other medical surveillance programs
  • Experience performing or coordinating drug and alcohol testing, including chain-of-custody procedures
  • Strong case-management, documentation, and electronic medical record skills
  • Ability to identify workplace injury trends and support evidence-based injury-prevention initiatives
  • Effective communication and employee education skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable occupational health regulations
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions in an onsite setting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong collaboration skills when working with Human Resources, Safety, Security, leadership, healthcare providers, and employees
  • Conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and occupational health information systems
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, adaptability, and attention to detail
